India is shining in corporate ranks across the world. The past few years have seen Indian as well as Indian-origin execs increasingly making their presence felt on global business world, with many of them spearheading global roles in some of the world’s biggest companies.

Here’s a look at 13 people of Indian origin holding key positions at global IT powerhouses.

Satya Nadella, Microsoft

After a 22-year stint with Microsoft, Nadella was recently appointed as the chief executive officer of the company. Nadella’s appointment comes after a selection process spanning over six months. He previously held the position of executive vice president of Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise group.


Sanjay Jha, Global Foundries

Sanjay Jha recently took over as CEO of Global Foundries, a semiconductor foundry that produces chips for giants like AMD, Broadcom, Qualcomm, and STMicroelectronics. He was the CEO and chairman of Motorola till May 2012 when Google’s acquisition of the company was completed. Jha is said to have received $66 million golden parachute package after the deal.


Padmasree Warrior, Cisco

Padmasree Warrior is chief technology and strategy officer at Cisco. Born and raised in India, Padmasree Warrior joined Motorola in 1984 and worked in different roles at the company with the last one being the chief technical officer (CTO). She left Motorola and joined Cisco Systems as CTO in 2007.


Sanjay Mehrotra, SanDisk

Mehrotra is the co-founder, president and chief executive officer of SanDisk Corporation, a company that develops flash memory storage solutions and software. He founded the company with Dr Eli Harari in 1988.


Nikesh Arora, Google

Nikesh Arora is senior vice president and chief business officer at Google. He oversees all revenue and customer operations, as well as marketing and partnerships at Google. He received $46.7 million in total compensation in 2012, becoming the company's highest-paid executive, as per a regulatory filing.


Abhi Talwalkar, LSI

Abhi Talwalkar is the president and CEO of semiconductors and software company, LSI. Regarded as one of the most influential global Indians in technology, Talwalkar is credited to steer LSI to focus on the market for solid state storage solutions.


Rajeev Suri, Nokia Solutions and Networks

Rajeev Suri is the CEO of Nokia Solutions and Networks (erstwhile Nokia Siemens Networks). Previously, he was the head of the company’s India services division. Suri is also said to be in the running for the company’s CEO’s post following the acquisition of its handsets business by Microsoft.



Sundar Pichai, Google

Sundar Pichai is senior vice president at Google, Pichai leads the Android, Chrome and Google Apps teams. He has played a key role in teams responsible for products like Google Chrome, Chrome OS and Google Drive.


Pankaj Patel, Cisco

Pankaj Patel is executive vice president and chief development officer at Cisco. Patel is responsible for leading the development and execution of Cisco's $36.3-billion technology portfolio across a global team of more than 28,000 employees.


Arvind Sodhani, Intel

Arvind Sodhani is executive vice president of Intel Corporation and president of Intel Capital. Sodhani was elected vice president by the board of directors in May 1990, served as senior vice president from 2005 to 2007 and was promoted to executive vice president in December 2007. He has been spearheading Intel’s investments in technology companies since 2005.


Rajan Naik, AMD

Rajan Naik is senior vice president and chief strategy officer at chipmaker AMD. Prior to joining AMD in January 2012, he was a Partner in McKinsey & Company. He has also had stints with Intel and Lucent technologies.


Suresh Vaswani, Dell

Suresh Vaswani serves as president of services, the global IT services and business solutions unit of Dell that provides infrastructure and cloud computing, applications and business process outsourcing (BPO), global support and deployment and security Services. He has also served as chairman for Dell India. Before joining Dell, he was joint-CEO of Wipro’s IT business.



Kelly Ahuja, Cisco's Mobility Business Group

Kelly Ahuja is senior vice president and general manager of Cisco's Mobility Business Group. He is responsible for taking care of the company’s global business strategy and execution for the entire Cisco mobility product portfolio and technology solutions targeted to mobile service operators.
